SEALS SUNNY DAZE

WARM WINTER DAY ON THE CENTRAL COAST.
YES WE ARE IN A DROUGHT BUT HOT AND SUNNY IS GOOD SONNY.
THANK GOODNESS OUR CG DOESNT WANT A LAWN ON THE FARM.
OUR WELL WORKS OVER TIME IN THE SUMMER. THE FARM HAS TWO KINDS OF SOIL. SAND ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE CREEK AND ADOBE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE CREEK. WE CONSIDER DONATING THE FLOOD ZONE AREA FOR A COMMUNITY GARDEN. WE ARE BEGINNING PLANNING WITH OUR NEIGHBOR THE DANA ADOBE TO TRANSFER SOME (VERY LITTLE) TAX LIABILITY. WE WOULD TRY TO WORK MORE OF THE HEIRLOOM VARIETIES BUT EXPERIMENTATION WOULD BE ENCOURAGED. CAPT DANA AND OTHER SAILORS BROUGHT ALL SORTS OF TROPICALS TO TEST IN VARIOUS GARDEN. OUR TEN YEAR OLD MACADAMIA NUT TREE IS IN FULL PRODUCTION. THERE IS A MACO TREE IN NIPOMO THAT MUST BE TRIMMED EVERY SO OFTEN BECAUSE IT GETS 30 OR 40 FT TALL. WE NEED TO CUT THE TREE BACK AS IT IS RESTING ON THE GARAGE ROOF NEEDS TO MOVE ON.
PASO ROBLES NAMED ONE OF THE NEW HOT SPOTS FOR THE SOJOURNER.

OUR SANTA CATALINA FIG CUTTING IS 2YRS OLD STILL IN AN 8' POT AND PRODUCED ANOTHER NICE SIZED FIG. HE GOES IN THE GROUND THIS SPRING. GOPHER HAVE EATEN ALL THE FIGS WE'VE PUT IN THIS NIPOMO FARM. QUITTERS NEVER WIN. SO WE WILL PLANT AGAIN.

A COUPLE OF NIGHTS AGO WE HAD SANTA ANAS THAT BLEW ALL THE LEAVES OF OUR FRUIT TREES. SO THAT ARE WINTER NAKED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME. SOME WINTERS THEY DONT LOSE THEIR LEAVES TIL SPRING. SOME TIME THE BLOSSOM IN NOVEMBER AND WE GET SECOND CROPS.
